Job Type: Full-time (35 hours per week)

Starting Gross Salary: €57,909 per annum (Currency Converter)

Mandatory Requirements:

  1. Hold an honours degree in Engineering or equivalent professional qualification (Level 8 of Irish National Framework of Qualifications),
  2. Have at least five (5) years satisfactory relevant engineering experience, including for a period of not less than three years, satisfactory experience in planning, design or construction of major road works projects.,
  3. Possess a high standard of technical training and experience, and
  4. Possess a high standard of administrative experience.
Desirable Requirements:
  1. Have knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safety regulations,
  2. Have satisfactory experience in the management of staff and in organizing and implementing work programs,
  3. Have the ability to demonstrate good analytical and IT skills,
  4. Have demonstrated experience of the development and progression of national road schemes, active travel or greenway schemes in compliance with applicable legislation, standards and guidelines as detailed in governance documents of DoT, TII and Local authorities,
  5. Have demonstrated experience in the delivery of major infrastructural projects through statutory processes of compulsory purchase of lands and Environmental Impact Assessment,
  6. Have demonstrated experience in the operation and maintenance of national roads, active travel or greenways,
  7. Have high level of technical and engineering competence in implementing and project managing all phases of civil engineering projects preferably road projects, active travel or greenway projects,
  8. Have evidence of self-sufficiency, being capable of evaluating proposals and identifying improvements on a proactive basis and adapting readily to change,
  9. Hold a current valid unendorsed driving licence in respect of Category “B” vehicles
